Join this monthly prayer group for young men and women to deepen their prayer lives over the course of 7 months.
Centering Prayer is an ancient method of Christian prayer in updated form. It reduces the obstacles to union with God caused by the hyperactivity of our minds and our lives. This method is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. It is a response to Jesus’ own directive on prayer: “When you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will repay you” (Matthew 6:6). This method of prayer is a movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with Him, i.e., the gift of contemplation.
Materials included in the program:
- Book: Open Mind, Open Heart by Thomas Keating, OCSO. (20th Anniversary Edition)
- Brochure on Centering Prayer
- Centering prayer app information
