Profiles in Ministry: Sr. Karen Dolovacky

When Regina High School closed, I thought I was finished teaching Chemistry and perhaps teaching altogether. But our good and provident God intervened! I was called to the inner city of Cleveland where Cleveland Central Catholic High School needed a science tutor. After a year, I was offered a full time science teaching position, but in Physical Science. It was both an eye-opening experience and a tough year. At year’s end, I was offered the Chemistry classes, which I gladly accepted. Five years later I have added a Chemistry 2 class and continue to teach Chemistry full time. It is truly a ministry of love for these students who need a good background in science for their careers. They also need understanding and caring. I believe this is the place God wants me to be and I love the time I spend with urban youth. I know that God is working through me to show these students His good and provident care.
